Applications for LeiMUN 2024 are now open.

Background

LeiMUN is a 2-day conference organized by us, the Leiden MUN Foundation, in the beautiful city of Leiden, in the Netherlands. LeiMUN 2024 is the second edition held in the KOG building in Leiden and it will have 4 committees, catered to all experience levels. The topics are yet to be announced.

In the conference, we are going to host one dual committee with a maximum of 50 delegates and three single committees with a maximum of 45 delegates.

LeiMUN is also about building new connections: the Secretariat will organise a social on both days for our Delegates and Chairs. Furthermore, the conference fee will cover the entrance to those events, the placards and badges, and two pieces of merchandise.

We warmly welcome all university students, both Bachelor and Master, with all levels of MUN experience, coming from any country!

Do You have no previous MUN experience?

LeiMUN is open for all university students. There is no previous experience required.

We offer two introductory committees, namely the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) and the Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Committee (SOCHUM). Additionally, we hold weekly office hours every Monday from 17:00 to 19:00 in room 2.10 to address any inquiries you may have. Moreover, preceding the conference, we will conduct both an online and an in-person session to elucidate the functioning of Model United Nations (MUN). Should you be unable to attend either of these sessions, rest assured that pertinent documents aiding novice participants will be disseminated on My MUN, the platform utilized for application submissions.

Upon commencement of the conference, the Beginner Committee will not immediately engage in debates. Instead, a session will be allocated during which your chairs will expound comprehensively on the procedural aspects of the debates.
