Having been a part of the Harvard and EuroMUN prep tracks, it is clear that Leiden MUN Foundation trains all its delegates to the highest standard and equips individuals with essential skills needed in any public/diplomatic related field. Leiden MUN Foundation also serves as an excellent opportunity to form genuine connections with other participants and, through its embassy visits, the chance to meet individuals versed in international relations. As the President of Leiden MUN, I look forward to developing delegates toward achieving their personal goals, finding their voice, and excelling at conferences.

The reason I joined Leiden MUN was because I needed a new challenge to take myself to the next step. Before I joined Leiden MUN, I was a young university student who never tried to speak out. However, I have learnt so many skills, tips, and diplomatic attitudes throughout IEUMUN and HNMUN with the Leiden MUN Foundation. After completing two conferences, I left Leiden MUN as a person with a full of confidence and delightful memories. After that, I came back to Leiden MUN to take the role of treasurer. The reason I joined the board of Leiden MUN is to share what I have achieved from past delegations. At the same time, I strongly aim to bring happiness to every single person I meet through Leiden MUN, and it would be my goal.As a Treasurer of Leiden MUN, I will strive to help students to enjoy different MUN conferences and also to make students find their voice. Therefore, I can’t wait to see our next delegation!

Having completed the Foundations’ EuroMUN prep track, I've emerged empowered and brimming with newfound confidence in my diplomatic and negotiation abilities. The prep track, a core tenant of the Foundation, embodies the competitiveness of MUN while also fostering the collaborative nature of the debate. The guidance from the Board has been instrumental in my personal growth, and the support from my mentor became a source of inspiration to ensure I make a meaningful impact wherever I go. The Leiden MUN Foundation's commitment to cultivating excellence in its delegates pushes them to embrace the challenges and opportunities that come with MUN in a transformative experience. My journey personally has sparked a fire within me to pay it forward and my aspiration as a delegate trainer for the 29th Board is to impart the readiness and enthusiasm I've gained to future delegations, fostering a community of confident and passionate students.

My MUN journey began with the IEUMUN conference in Madrid. Joining the delegation for IEUMUN 2023 without much prior MUN experience was initially challenging, but with the support of my PDP, I grew more and more confident in the MUN setting. As a delegate, surrounded by peers and my PDP who believed in my capabilities, they ignited my passion for MUN and inspired me to continue this experience as part of the board. Now, as the promotion and acquisition officer, I am dedicated to communicating the foundation's mission in person and on our socials. I am excited to help individuals find their voices through effective training and support during the prep track. This journey has not only sharpened my debating skills but has also empowered me to be a driving force, fostering confidence in others.

The Leiden MUN Foundation and my participation in the Harvard and EuroMUN prep tracks marked my first encounter with the world of MUN. Though feeling challenged in this new environement, I soon developed a profound passion for the world of MUN. Throughout the preparatory track and conference experiences, I was not only taught about the skills of debating, negotiating and lobbying but grew immensely as an individual, finding confidence in my ability to express myself. As a board member and delegate trainer, I now hope to be able to contribute to this journey of future delegates, guiding them in taking on new challenges and finding their voice, while making meaningful and lasting memories and connections along the way.

The Leiden MUN Foundation’s mission to raise passionate individuals towards making the most out of their voice inspired me to join the board to carry on with a legacy I felt identified with. Being a part of the Foundation has become an irreplaceable experience in my career that has allowed me to grow both professionally by teaching delegates and personally by learning from them. In retrospect to my previous experiences in the debate world, Leiden MUN made it clear to me that it is not all about academics but ambition, passion, confidence, and professionalism likewise. As a delegate trainer I strive to pass on these values to future delegations.

My journey with the Leiden MUN Foundation started with the prep track for EuroMUN 2023. Throughout the rigorous prep track that the foundation offers, I was able to become accustomed to the arts of public speaking, debating, lobbying and negotiation. One thing I love about Leiden MUN is the unique PDP mentoring scheme which helped me hone in on my skills while being mentored by an experienced former delegate. As intense as the prep track is, I’ve always found that my PDP along with the delegation as a whole provided for an encouraging environment. MUN brings people together like nothing else and I have created life-long friendships and memories. My passion for MUN is why I wanted to become a delegate trainer. I strive to do what past board members did for me and pass on the same skills to future delegates that will make them capable and driven delegates at upcoming conferences.
